Wow!! It's hard to believe that we are half way through this fifth grade year. Book orders are due by this Friday, January 13. You can also order on line through Saturday. The end of 3rd term is Friday, January 13. All work is due by 9:00 Friday morning. A printout and newsletter was sent home with your child on Wednesday, January 11. The students who earned Worker's Holiday for Friday afternoon, may bring board games and other kinds of games to play with friends. They may also bring a few treats if they would like to.
There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16, for the Martin Luther King holiday.
Let's all work hard to stay caught up this term!! You can check grades on Power School every day if you want. I will continue to send progress printouts every two weeks on Wednesdays. The next newsletter and printout will be sent home on February 1.
We begin DARE on Monday, January 23 and a permission letter will be sent home that day.
All fifth grade students take the Direct Writing Assessment in February. Any typing practice the students can do at home would be great. Typing homework will continue to be sent home on Wednesdays. Your child can go into utahwrites.com and practice writing five paragraph stories. students know their username and password. They are currently working on one about living in Cedar City. Have them save, but not submit their writing. We will submit and print at school on Wednesday, January 18.
Thank you for the help you give your children. The students who have follow through at home are making great progress. Please continue to check daily planners and progress reports.
